i'm not alive to live this ordinary life....

SONG OF THE WEEK!
ORDINARY LIFE
Starfield

Take me and invade me
Make me someone new
Wake me from the dead
And break me with the truth

Move me and disturb me
Interrupt my peace
Tear open my heart
And pull me to my knees

There's a world outside
That is burning
While I'm turning blinded eyes
While I stand by

I won't survive
To live this ordinary life
I'm not alive
To live this ordinary life

And I will try to see this world I live in with your eyes
To love this world you've given with my life
To see this world I live in with your eyes
To love this world you've given with my life

the old school: mix 2!

Hello hello! Here is the playlist to my lastest mixed cd that I just finished! It is full of hits from the 90's. Most of them you will know, but I threw in a few.... less popular but just as good ones!

The Old School: Mix 2 (2/10/09)

1. "MMMBop"- Hanson- Don't judge, this song is a 90's pop classic. It must be included and is a great way to introduce this album.

2. "Zombie"- The Cranberries- Oh, The Cranberries! So, so good.

3. "Out of my Head"- Fastball- Oh, how I love this song! I remember the first time I heard it, it was at a variety show when I was in middle school. so fun.

4. "Uninvited"- Alanis Morissette- Um.... what can I say? the 90's were a good time for Alanis.

5. "To the Moon and Back"- Savage Garden- Brilliance, I say! My 2nd favorite song of Savage Garden's. Stay tuned for the 1st....

6. "Hear"- Moonpools & Caterpillars- Okay, so you've probably never heard of them, right? Well, neither had I until I heard them in "Wish Upon A Star." They are great though.

7. "Angel"- Shaggy & Rayvon- This song is totally guilty pleasure for me. I don't know what else to say about it, I just love it. Haha.

8. "Come On"- Letters to Cleo- If you've seen "10 Things I Hate About You" aka, one of my favorite movies ever, then you've heard this song! It's by the band that plays several times in the movie.

9. "Thinking of You"- Hanson- I'm not gonna lie, I used to love these boys. They're cute, they're from Oklahoma, what's not to love? Haha. Well, this is one of their best, I think.

10. "No Scrubs"- TLC- Okay, I had to mix up my genres and expand my horizons so I decided to throw in a little TLC to my mix. And, personally, I like this one better than "Waterfalls."

11. "Walking on the Sun"- Smash Mouth- This is definitely one of the most popular songs of the entire decade. So, of course, it had to go on my mix. I like it though. It's catchy and fun.

12. "Kiss Me"- Sixpence None The Richer- What a cute song. It's from a great 90's movie, "She's All That." I think that movie made this song popular, but I would still love it either way.

13. "Every Morning"- Sugar Ray- This is just a fun song, and it's got that 90's pop-rock feel to it. Good stuff.

14. "Cruel To Be Kind"- Letters to Cleo- Another great one from "10 Things."

15. "Fly Away"- Lenny Kravitz- More of that classic 90's sound. It's just a nice, feel good song.

16. "Heaven"- Moonpools & Caterpillars- A sweet, slow little ballad, also from "Wish Upon A Star." It's very high school awkward slow dance, but really sweet and pretty.

17. "Unbelievable"- EMF- You're unbelievable. You know you love this song.

18. "You Oughta Know"- Alanis Morrisette- This song is very angsty and fun to sing along to. Mostly if you're a girl, but still. It's also one of the most popular of the 90's, so it was a must.

19. "Truly, Madly, Deeply"- Savage Garden- As promised, this is my favorite Savage Garden song and as cheesy as it is, I love it! I remember being totally grossed out by it when I was little and I'd hear it on the bus on the way home. Haha. Now I can appreciate it more I guess....

The KB: Mix 22

So...... I started this thing when I was in highschool, not gonna lie, I totally copied off of the show The OC because they called their soundtracks The OC: Mix 1, The OC: Mix 2, etc.

And I thought it was a clever idea so I began the never ending process of mix cd making and created The KB: Mix 1.

Fast forward 6 or 7 years and here I am on Mix 22. I'm still working on the rough cut of the cd... I don't want to release it prematurely. Haha. But I have discovered some great, great stuff in the process that I have to share so here it is:

1) Make You Feel My Love -ADELE- The song is originally by Bob Dylan, but I think her cover of it is marvelous. I love love love it.

2) Lift Me Up -Kate Voegele- I love the honesty and the pain revealed in this song, but the hopefulness that comes with it. I can relate. It's a really good song.

3)Behind Your Eyes -Jon Foreman- What a sweet little song. I love the folky sound and I love the lyrics.

4) What Can I Do (But Love You) -Joy Williams- This is a precious song. I'm a sucker for love songs and this one is just too sweet. You gotta love it.

5) Use Somebody- Kings of Leon- Okay, so this song has been out awhile and I've been a huge fan of it for awhile now, but I don't have it on any of my previous mixes, therefore, I have to put it on this one! It is an incredible song. I love the sound. I loooove his voice. I think the lyrics are really great. I don't see how anyone could not like it!

You Can't Kill What I Hold Inside

Song of the Week....

The whole world is falling apart
But everything in me is fine
So take this old body and burn
You can't kill what I hold inside

I've been waiting for this
I've been waiting for this
Help me now
Help me now

I've been waiting for you
I've been heading for this
Easy now
Easy now

The whole world is laughing out loud
But everything in me is calm
So laugh it all up right now
Cause soon you'll be scared to look down

I've been waiting for you
Is there something off
Inside of me?
Inside of me?

I've been waiting for this
I've been waiting for you
Kiss me now
Kiss me now

Incidentally I've been losing it
Sometimes it hurts what other people think
What they think

Love this sinner good
Love this sinner good
And be blessed by this dead man's praise
Be blessed by this dead man's praise....

(The Whole World Is Falling Apart by Enation)

Must Be A Different View... To Have A Me With A You.

so, i just love music. isn't it fantastic? i love it so much that i decided to create a new weekly blog all about it! we'll see if i actually blog about it every week....

but, anyways, you know how sometimes you can't really find a way to describe the way you feel, but then you hear this song, or read these lyrics and you're like, HEY, THIS IS IT! THIS IS HOW I FEEL!??

well..... that is pretty much how every day goes for me. music is so great. it always seems to articulate things so much better than we can on our own.

so, in honor of my favorite thing in the world, i am going to [try to] post a blog each week with the lyrics to my latest favorite song. here is my first song of the week....

INSIDE OF LOVE
By Nada Surf

Watching terrible tv
It kills all thought
Getting spacier than
An astronaut

Making out with people
I hardly know or like
I can't believe what i do
Late at night

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I'm standing at the gates
I see the beauty above

Only when we get to see
The aerial view
Will the patterns show
We'll know what to do

I know the last page so well
I can't see the first
So i just don't start
It's getting worse

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I'm standing at the gates
I see the beauty above

I can't find my way in
I try again and again....

I'm on the outside of love
Always under or above
Must be a different view
To be a me with a you

Of course i'll be alright
I just had a bad night
